Will Smith's sudden apology to Chris Rock

On Friday morning, Will Smith posted a clip on YouTube apologizing to Chris Rock after what happened during the live telecast of this year's Academy Awards, which was watched by everyone from around the world, and caused a huge controversy due to the shocking act of Will Smith after Chris Rock's words about the story Smith's wife's short hair Will Smith steps up on stage and slaps Chris Rock in front of everyone and then sits down and yells obscene words in his face which caused a stir later

After that, Smith went on to win the Oscar for Best Actor for the title role. Days later, everyone wakes up to a surprising news that Smith has resigned from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which banned Will Smith for 10 years because of Chris Rock's slap

Will Smith said in the video : I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable and I am here whenever I am ready to speak.”

Later that week, Chris commented during a standup show in New Jersey that "Rock joked that anyone who says painful words hasn't been punched in the face,"
adding that he wasn't a victim and he shook her off. "I don't go to the hospital to pick up paper."

A few hours after Smith slapped Chris shockingly in front of everyone, Smith wrote an apology on Instagram to Chris, but this was his first message on the video.

"No part of me thought that was the right way to act at that moment," he said. “No part of me thinks this is the best way to deal with feeling disrespected or insulted

In front of the camera, Smith sighed several times as if he was about to cry. Many questions were raised, such as: Why did you not apologize to Chris in your acceptance speech? "It felt foggy at this point," he replied.

Smith added that he responded to Rock's joke about his wife's short hair, similar to the style practiced by Demi Moore in GI Jane. Jada Pinkett suffers from hair loss and has spoken before everyone about her struggle with alopecia

After Jada rolled her eyes, "Did I ask you to do something?" It was one of the questions Smith answered in the video. "I chose on my own, from my own experience, from my history with Chris," he said. "Jada had nothing to do with that. I'm sorry, sweetheart."

Smith also apologized to Rock's mother Rose and brother Tony, who was once a close friend of his. He also lamented musician Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson, who had won the Best Documentary Oscar for his Summer of Soul moments after the infamous slap. "It really breaks my heart that I stole and distorted your moment," Smith said to Koestloff. "And, you know, it feels like 'I'm sorry' isn't really enough."

Smith said over the last few months, he's gone over the Oscars incident many times, trying to work on himself. He closed the video message by saying he hates having disappointed people.

"I know it was confusing, and I know it was shocking," Smith said. "But I promise you, I'm loyal and deeply committed to shedding light, love, and joy on the world. And you know, if you stick around, I promise we'll be able to be friends again."
